Applicant Eligibility:

State governments, Special district governments, City or township governments, County governments, Native American Tribal governments (federally recognized), Public- and state-controlled institutions of higher education, Other: Agencies with a different legal status (e.g., nonprofit or for-profit mental health agencies) are eligible to apply only if they meet the following two requirements: (1) the applicant is designated by the state mental health authority to provide services as a unit of the state or local government and (2) the applicant must attach documentation to support this designation.

OJJDP seeks applications for funding to support cross-system collaboration to improve responses and outcomes for youth under the age of 18 or youth under the jurisdiction of the juvenile justice system with mental health disorders (MHD) or co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders (MHSUDs) who come in contact with the juvenile justice system. This program supports public safety efforts through partnerships with youth justice, mental health, and substance use agencies to enhance responses to justice-involved youth with MHD and MHSUDs.
